Hello Steve,Your second home in Crete is a perfect place for families with children like ours. On top of the confort enjoyed, we very much appreciated the pool, the barbecue, your collection of movies and the fireplace. Also the position of the villa in the south east of Crete is OK as families with children like climbing the gorges, visit the small beaches and we adults the cosy tavernes, like Dragon cave and Oasis, where the name Sreve Wright is also known. So we had a wonderfull time with a good (sometimes summer weather) for the time of the year. Your villa is therefore also interesting as home for the last months of the year, at least for dutchmen. Maybe a reason to extend your marketing to that part of the year as also flights to Crete have compatitive tariffs compared to other holiday countries at Christmas time.To finish: Anja and her cleaning colleague do a very good job and we feel ourselves priviliged to have stayed in Villa Danae. The holiday was amazing, we all loved staying at Villa Danae. Location is quiet and peaceful, definitely need to hire a car. Villa is very spacious and homely. Locals are friendly. Would recommend to others to eat at Petra Bay and Dragon's Cave. The water sports are incredible, the sofa 'crazy ufo' is so fun! Sept 2012

It was the most fantastic villa, just the right size for us (10), with 5 double bedrooms (3 en suite). The pool was great, and the outside furniture particularly good. Views tremendous. The beach at Makrygialos is perfect for teenagers with excellent watersports (20 euros for jetskiing, compared to the 50 we paid in Malta earlier in the year). Not too crowded – always sunbeds available, soft sand, mild surf and sea not too deep or too shallow. Tavernas on the beach serving food and drinks. Our every days were so good noone could be bothered to go on any trips!

A true taste of the real Greece in this well equipped "away from it all" villa. We had a very relaxing holiday, everything you need has been provided in this comfortable, spacious villa......Overall a fantastic holiday to suit all ages.

We stayed for 10 days and felt at home from the minute we arrived & well looked after by Anja. Thanks to Steve & Kay the villa has EVERYTHING you could need!! Cannot fault it! The pictures are beautiful... but the reality is even better! There were 6 people in our party and not once did we feel under each others feet.
The area is VERY quiet (which is just what we wanted), a car is much needed if you want to explore, sight see and get away from the more popular beaches (which were still quiet)... its a fair walk to local shops in 34degree heat!
When not lounging by the pool we found beautiful quiet coves, explored monasteries & had a lovely dinner at the Dragons Cave restaurant and even had the a local chef come and cook us a meal in our villa. Recommend the trip to Chrisi Island.... the golden beach is AMAZING!

The villa is welcoming, comfortable, spacious, light, airy, and extremely well appointed and beautifully furnished everywhere. The kitchen and dining/BBQ areas want for nothing. Wall to wall sun for almost two weeks helped. Lovely pool, variety of outside areas, both in and out of the sun and super views. Plenty of useful information, maps, books and DVD's in the villa. The owners seem to have thought of everything. Makrigialos is a delightful little village with a great variety of good restaurants, pastry shop, bars and beaches with shade. The locals made us very welcome. Interesting countryside, bays and beaches. Plenty for everyone to do whether lounging by the pool or wandering through gorges, coastal towns and Cretan villages. Super!!

“schitterende villa met alles erop en eraan”

Werkelijk een plaatje. Met mooi uitzicht en werkelijk van alle comfort voorzien. Het overtrof onze verwachtingen. Huurauto wel noodzakelijk. Wij waren er met 3 echtparen en genoten.
Wij verbleven er een week na eerst een week fly/drive voor het westelijk deel van Kreta.
Hier vonden we rust. Goede BBQ om niet weg te moeten, al waren er volop goede eetgelegenheden op rij-afstand. Echt een aanrader, onvoorstelbaar goed van alle gemakken voorzien. 2012

"Fantastic modern spacious villa in a quiet and peaceful area”

The holiday was amazing, there were 6 of us staying at Villa Danae. It was very spacious and homely. Modern furniture inside and out. Lovely sofas to laze on in the sun by the pool. Location is very secluded, quiet and peaceful. Picturesque views all around. Definitely need to hire a car because amenities are a good distance away and the villa is located up a hilly dirt track.

The weather was great. No clouds in the sky and sunshine all day 30 degrees+. Had some gusty windy days though, so watch out as the wind can be strong (one of the metal sun lounges managed to be pushed along by the wind!). Having said that though, some days we welcomed the wind, the sun is so strong and hot you need that break to cool you down!Locals are very friendly. Cretans do everything at a leisurely pace, laid back atmosphere. I would recommend to others to eat at Petra Bay (best service we experienced) and Dragon's Cave.

Give the local water sports a go, they are incredible. The jet ski's and sofa 'crazy ufo' are so fun! Reasonably priced too. 2012
